v0.4.9.9
The new content for this update largely revolves around expanding the mage-storyline. In total we’re talking around 40.000 new words, and around 60 new art pieces. We have a good chunk of story content, as well as erotic content with more than 4 different potential characters, so quite a big update!
How to get to the content
Simply continue from where you left off in the mage storyline.
If you’ve never played the mage storyline; you get to it by doing Intro > Leave with Kate > Don’t join mercenaries > Scream when you meet the bandit in the alley. If you follow those steps, you get started on the mage storyline.
v0.3.9.9
Right on the deadline, even a day early! The main goal of this update is further completing the intro-rework/re-design. With this new update, I’m adding a total of about 90 new images to the game, mostly centered around the story’s intro. I’ve talked before about my goal with these last two updates. TSSR has become quite a large game, and while at first I didn’t have very many resources, I’m now fortunate enough to have those resources as well as having some great colaborative artistic partners. As a result, many of the newer updates (that were later in the game) had the quality and the quantity of art that I hope the entire game will one day have. But the intro had remained very static, as it had originally been designed.
These two new updates go a very long way in re-working the game’s intro, so that new players can immediately get an understanding for what I hope to create, rather having a lot of that good art hidden in the later segments of the game.
v0.2.9.9
The main thrust of this update is to revamp large sections of the game’s main intro. Specifically, this is aimed at pulling the quality of the art and the density of the art, up to the standard that I’m aiming for the entire game.
In total, this means adding around 90 new art pieces to the game, with most of them being spread out across the game’s intro section. Because of the size of the revamp, I’ve decided to release the current progress of it, rather than wait until the entire revamp is complete. My hope is that with one more update, I can complete the remainder of the intro-revamp and have the entire intro-section up to the new quality standard.
The main reason for focussing on this intro-revamp is because a lot of story-branches have more and better art in the later sections. By redesigning the intro, new players are instantly able to experience the quality and quantity of the art that I hope to have present throughout the game.
v0.1.9.9
Fortunately right on the deadline, still a little later then I had hoped. So, the main content for this update is an expansion on the Warrior-storyline. Specifically, it picks up right after Sarah makes her decision to go back to her homeland of Rosanna. To understand this update, you have to understand that it is somewhat experimental. I have previously discussed on this page that I have always had a certain target or ambition for TSSR. A lot of the earlier game was heavily influenced by what was possible in terms of art and resources. Now, with more resources available, it has always been my hope to try and set the bar higher for the game and its art-quality. This update shows a sort of proof-of-concept of the kind of art-density that I hope to try and develop as I continue development on the game. I’m still mixing and matching to fine the exact right balance, but I think the content in this update will give you all a good idea of my vision.
How to get to the new content?
The content plays out by simply continuing from the last update on the Warrior-path, or otherwise playing through the Warrior-route till its conclusion. The actual update itself plays out quite differently depending on previous choices, so to experience most of it, there are broadly 2 paths, the first is if Sarah has slept with Captain Belmont, the 2nd is if she has not slept with him. The outcome is the same for each path
v0.9.9
The newest update revolves around the other world/Daemon-storyline. It’s a smaller branch, but I think eventually will be an interesting and important one for the entire story. This new update does not finish this storyline, but it does move it forward quite a bit, giving that path a bit more meat.
How to get to the new content?
In order to get to the new content, you simply need to explore the Mage-path. Then, when offered to learn a school of magic, proceed with the Daemonology tree. When a voice reaches out to you in the void, react to it. After that, everything should play out as per usual.
v0.8.9
So, this latest release focusses on expanding the so called “Rahayal” storyline. So far there hasn’t been too much revealed around this one, nor have there been too many updates revolving around it, but I think this update will go a long way towards setting up what this storyline will be about. It’s not one of the three main story branches, but I think eventually it will shape up to be an important one in terms of exploring more of the lore at the center of the story.
Coming in at just about 60 new art pieces and around 70k new words, it’s up there as one of the bigger updates I’ve released in a while and I’m very excited to see what people think.
How to get to the new content?
This storyline is a little harder to get to than most. Essentially, you have 2 paths:
Intro > Leave with Kate > Do not join mercenaries > Leave Lethram > Travel the Old Road > Get to Rahayal and enter the city
Intro > Leave with Kate > Sleep with Belmont > Join Mercenaries > Join Belmont > Leave his ship when you get to Rahayal
Both paths set you up for more or less the same storyline. For now, the main path in the Rahayal storyline is the most developped, so I suggest players pursue those choices. The other paths are being worked on as well, but will come in a later update.
v0.7.9
So, this latest release further expands on the Warrior-storyline. It picks up from where we’ve last left, which would be after the optional storyline featuring Garret, and then continuing from there.
A small note that I did want to give; during production I realized too late that there had been a few misscommunications, so for some of the erotic encounters, the art doesn’t perfectly match onto the written text. Because I caught this too late, I was faced with either postponing the update, or just fixing it in the future. I made the decision to release the update as is, rather than delay it, but I will be correcting these scenes in either the next update or the one after.
To get to the new content, continue from where the warrior storyline last ended. To start the warrior storyline, simply Intro > Leave With Kate > Join Mercenaries
