It was time consuming to update, but should save time in the long run by being able to use new optimization and features and being future-proof. However, also because of this, the google translate lib broke, so I had to implement an alternative last second (still google translate but without their bloated platform dependent libs that have a million dependencies). Finding an alternative was frustrating, but it’s relieving not having to rely on closed code in a ton of libs. Again, this will mainly speed up further development, but shouldn’t have any impact on the game itself.

Unfortunately, due to the limit of 2GB of apps on android, I’m forced to split the app into APK and OBB file. To install, you will have to place the “main.1.com.HachiGames.HailDicktator.obb” file into the “Android\obb\com.HachiGames.HailDicktator\” folder (create the hail dicktator subfolder if it doesn’t exist). – After downloading the game. Extract the app using “The Unarchiver” (the default unzip program of mac might mess up permissions)
– Open Terminal. (go to Applications -> Utils -> Terminal)
– Type “xattr -cr Downloads/HailDicktator_x.x.x_macOS/HailDicktator.app” (without quotes. Replace _x.x.x with the name of the folder, you can also use tab to autocomplete)
– Press enter, and there shouldn’t be any error or other message. After that, you can play the game as normal.
